Three-peak Type (Triple Unit)
Formed widths include 810 mm, 910 mm, etc., peak height ranges from 50 mm to 80 mm, and lengths within 8 meters are available for processing. Plate thickness: 0.5 mm–1.5 mm. Fabrication can be carried out in accordance with construction drawings.
This triple-unit specification boasts unparalleled advantages compared with the previous two types: easy installation, high construction efficiency, excellent overall wall performance after installation and strong wind resistance. It can greatly cut construction costs and enhance the market competitiveness of construction contractors. If standard widths fail to meet requirements, our company can customize single-unit and double-unit windbreak & dust suppression nets according to your steel structure dimensions for convenient assembly.
The maximum length of windbreak & dust suppression nets shall not exceed 6.15 meters (the longer the net, the larger the span of steel structures and the poorer the wind shielding effect). A peak height of 7.5 cm delivers optimal windbreak performance, a conclusion verified by wind tunnel tests conducted by the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Mechanism and Effect of Windbreak & Dust Suppression Net
The core mechanism for windbreak dust suppression walls (nets) to drastically reduce dust emission from open coal piles lies in three aspects: lowering the wind speed of incoming airflow, dissipating the kinetic energy of incoming wind to the maximum extent, avoiding prominent eddies of incoming wind and reducing wind turbulence intensity.
Based on aerodynamic principles, when wind passes through windbreak walls assembled with dust suppression nets, flow separation and flow attachment occur behind the wall, generating upper and lower disturbed airflows. This reduces incoming wind speed and greatly consumes wind kinetic energy, lowers turbulence intensity and eliminates wind eddies. Consequently, the shear stress and pressure on the surface of coal piles drop, cutting down the dust generation rate of coal piles.
Typically, airflow separation takes place at the top of the windbreak net. The zone between the separation point and the attachment point is defined as the separation region, whose length is named the characteristic length of the wake zone or effective shelter distance. The dust suppression and shielding performance of windbreak dust suppression walls (nets) depends on the characteristic length of the wake zone behind the net and wind velocity.
